RFPD-COVID19-Header

We’re here for you. No matter the size of the emergency — from cat stuck in a tree to global pandemic — your Robertson Fire Protection District is here to help. As we as a community deal with the local impact of COVID-19, we’d like to share a few reminders to help you stay healthy and safe.

ABOUT COVID-19

A person with COVID-19 may have any of the following symptoms. The level of severity can vary:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

According to the CDC, older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions including heart or lung disease, or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19.

IF YOU SUSPECT YOU HAVE COVID-19

If you have the symptoms above, or have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, do not go to the emergency room. You should call your doctor first, then the St. Louis County Health Line at (314) 615-2660. Doctors and health officials will advise you further about your specific situation.

St. Louis County has provided additional testing information here.

PREVENTION

CDC COVID 19 Document

It is important for us to come together as a community to prevent the spread of this deadly disease. Measures we can take include:

  • Social distancing (avoiding public spaces unless absolutely necessary)
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
  • Not touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a mask when around others

We encourage you to wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

Many people may be carrying the disease without showing symptoms. We urge you to follow local guidelines regarding social distancing and public spaces.

If you have COVID-19, or believe you do, follow these instructions to help prevent the spread of the disease.

As always, if you or a loved one is in an emergency medical situation, call 911 and we'll be there to help! If you are able, please let the 911 operator know if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms so we can make sure we are prepared to provide proper care.

FIRE DISTRICT VISITORS AND EVENTS

We are still here and ready to respond if you have an emergency! However, to help keep our firefighters and paramedics safe, we are not allowing visitors to the Robertson Fire Protection District offices and fire stations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All in-person community education programs, activities and events are also canceled until further notice.

Even though we can’t visit face to face unless it’s an emergency situation, we welcome the chance to bring a firetruck to your upcoming celebration parade. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, graduation or other milestone event, let us know and we will do our best to make an appearance. If you live in the District and would like to arrange a parade appearance, give us a call at Fire Station #1 at (314) 291-6180 and ask for the on-duty officer.

We are still providing help with smoke alarms, permits and plan reviews, please call (314) 291-6671 to schedule an appointment.

If you have an emergency, please call 911. If you need any additional assistance from our team, please call (314) 291-6671.
